Read a real-life story from Tom, a golfer and antique shopper who’s lived with active AS since 1982.
SIMPONI® is the only self-injectable anti-TNF for adults with active AS that requires just one injection each month. Your results may vary. Once you and your doctor are comfortable with the self-injection process, you will inject SIMPONI® under the skin—only one injection each month.
Meet a golfer and antique shopper who’s lived with active AS since 1982.
I’ve had AS for some time now. At first I felt tired and sore. Then one day, after a business meeting, I couldn’t get up out of my chair, and my co-workers had to stand me up. The pain that started in my lower back was moving down my legs—and the stiffness in my neck was so bad I had trouble turning my head. Now that’s a real problem when you’re a golfer.
For a while I used aspirin and then switched to ibuprofen. But they didn’t help much with my pain. So my doctor gave me prescription pain relievers. We tried several different types of medications, including steroids. For a while they helped, but when those weren’t enough, my doctor prescribed SIMPONI®.
After starting treatment with SIMPONI®, the stiffness in my neck got better. I also noticed that the pain in my lower back improved.
My wife and I have a hobby that keeps me very busy—traveling around the country buying antique furniture that we fix up and resell. Since the SIMPONI® injection is just once a month, it fits into my busy travel schedule. The injection doesn’t bother me and I find it hardly hurts.
There is no cure for AS, but with SIMPONI® I get relief from my back pain and stiffness. I’d tell anyone who’s been diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis to give SIMPONI® a try. It really can make a difference.
SIMPONI® is the first and only self-injectable biologic treatment for adults with active ankylosing spondylitis that requires just one injection each month.
Your results may vary.
Once you and your doctor are comfortable with the self-injection process, you will inject SIMPONI® under the skin, just once a month.
